Segments

Get started with creating your first segment on Factors.

Updated this week

You can easily sift through all your interaction data and hone in on the specific accounts that matter to your organization. Whether you prefer to slice and dice your data with the filters on the top right, or create Segments that align with your business goals, Factors makes it easy to find the information you need to optimize your sales and marketing strategies.

Segments

Segments can be used to create a collection of filters to create a cohort of accounts, such as your ICP.

Understanding filters

Filters can be used to quickly cut through all the data and find specific accounts that matter most to you.

Account properties correspond to any fields that a set of accounts can meet - like belonging to a certain lifecycle stage in your CRM, certain industry/revenue range, or Factors engagement level.

Events correspond to any activity that accounts have performed in a certain time frame - such as a website session, an engagement meeting in HubSpot, or visiting a specific G2 page. You can click on the filter icon next to the 'last 60 days' dropdown to add a filter on your event, to make your segment even more focused.

Creating a segment inside Factors

You can create Segments for your organisation. With Segments, you can tailor your account data to fit specific conditions that matter to you. For example, you can filter accounts based on their location or their behaviour on your website, such as spending a certain amount of time on your pricing page. This allows you to gain a more nuanced understanding of your accounts and focus on those that are most relevant to your sales and marketing efforts.

Creating a Segment is simple, just follow along:

  1. Click on New Segment and then click + Start from Scratch

You can also check out our comprehensive list of templates, to get an idea on what kind of segments you can create for your team to start using the data in Factors.

  2. Give the segment a name, and start adding conditions that should be met for this segment. You can choose filters from our quick suggestions, or add your own custom filters.

  3. Once you have selected all the conditions that make up your desired segment, click Save Segment, add it to an existing or a new folder and that’s it! You can now find the Segment in the left pane.
