Funnel Reports
Updated over a year ago

Overview

Funnels is a tool that allows you to track and analyze the progress of accounts through a series of steps towards a specific goal. By setting up a funnel, you can gain insights into user behaviour, identify drop-off points, and optimize your sales process. This feature helps you to understand how your target accounts are interacting with your company and what steps you can take to increase conversions

For example, you can create a funnel to track the conversion rate for different landing pages.

Building a Funnel Report

Building a Funnels report inside Factors is easy, just follow along:

  1. Log in to your Factors account and click on Reports in the top Navigation Bar.

  2. You will now see your dashboard. From there simply click on + New Report and choose Funnel Report.

  3. This will open the Query Builder where you can start building your Funnels report.

  4. To start, select a Segment you wish to Analyse.

    1. All Users: List of all users with data aggregated across Website, CRM and other touch points.

    2. All Accounts: List of all accounts with data aggregated across Website, CRM records, LinkedIn engagement, G2 intent etc.

    3. Identified Companies: List of companies identified on your website.

    4. LinkedIn Company Engagements: List of companies that engaged with your ads on LinkedIn.

    5. G2 Engagements: List of companies that engaged with your G2 page.

    6. HubSpot Companies: List of companies from your HubSpot Company object.

    7. HubSpot Deal: List of deals from your HubSpot Deal object.

    8. Salesforce Account: List of companies from your Salesforce Account object.

    9. Salesforce Opportunity: List of opportunities from your Salesforce Opportunity object.

Adding events

To build a funnel you report, you need to add a minimum of two events. Also, you can look at these events in chronological order or any order by changing Events Performed.

This order

When you select This Order, we count a successful conversion only if the events were performed in the same order as they have been added inside the Query Builder. We will also count successful conversions where additional events occurred in between the chronologically listed events. As an example, consider events A, B, C, D and E

  1. If a user performs the steps A -> B -> C -> D in this exact order, we will count that as a successful conversion.

  2. If a user performs the steps A -> B -> E -> C -> D, we will count this as a successful conversion.

  3. If a user performs the steps A -> B -> D -> C -> D, we will count this as a successful conversion since they eventually completed the chronological flow towards conversion.

  4. If a user performs the steps A -> B -> C -> E, we will not count this as a successful conversion and the customer will not appear in the funnel after C since event D didn’t occur after C.

Any order

When you select Any Order, we count all instances where events added to the Query Builder were performed irrespective of the sequence. The only condition is that the user needs to have performed all the events mentioned in the Query Builder although with no restriction on the order of occurrence. Eg- For events A, B, C, and D. Any instance where all 4 were performed will be counted irrespective of which was performed when.

Let's build a Funnel Report for the following events: Website Session → Pricing Page Visit → Demo scheduled

  1. Add your first event from + Add First Event.

  2. Then, add subsequent event(s). You can also drag and drop using the six dots icon to reorder events.

  3. Select a timeframe and click Run Analysis.

  4. You can add a comparison to visualise change in your Conversion data using the Compare button.

  5. You can also add a Funnel Criteria, this will be taken as the maximum window within which the mentioned events should have happened.

  6. You can also change the visualisation from a funnel to an Overall Conversion metric.

Adding filters

You can apply filters to individual events and the entire report to get the precise data you are looking for. Let's look at only the events where the prospect is from the USA and spent more than 60 seconds on the pricing page.

  1. Click on Filter this Event next to the individual event you wish to apply a filter to.

  2. Click on + Add New below FILTER BY to add a filter to the entire report.

  3. Select a timeframe and click Run Analysis.

Adding breakdown

Breakdown is a powerful way of segmenting your data based on a desired criteria. You can group your data and visualise it exactly the way you want. Let's break down the report we generated earlier and find out how individual landing pages affected conversion.

  1. Click + Add New below BREAKDOWN and add Initial Page URL.

  2. Click Run Analysis.

Saving a report

You have just built a report you wish to save. Here’s how you can do that:

  1. Click on the Save button on the top right

  2. Give your report a name and a description for your team to quickly understand the context. Then select the Dashboard(s) you want to add this report to from the dropdown and hit Save.

And that’s it! That is how you can create a Funnel Report inside Factors, add Filters, Breakdown and Save the report to your Dashboard.
