Zapier Template - Setup Retargeting audience

This is a help article that instructs users to setup their LinkedIn Audience and connect it with Zapier

Updated over 10 months ago

💫 The purpose of this document is to help you set the LinkedIn Retargeting Audience for specific companies via Zapier

📌 Note that you need a paid account on Zapier to set up with Zap. The Modules involved are a part of the premium plan.

If you do not have a paid plan with Zapier, we suggest you sign up on Make.com and refer to this tutorial to set the audience

I have recorded a loom video taking you through all the steps required to setup the Retargeting Audience

The process is broadly divided into three steps:

1. Setting up an alert in Factors.ai

  • Head over to Alerts inside Factors

  • Set up the Alert conditions

    • Select event - This can be anyone visiting the website or a specific page. (If you want to use multiple pages)

    • Add the “Company Domain is Known” filter

  • Add Alert name and Description

  • Add Payload “Company Name” and “Company Domain” in this order

  • Enable Webhook option

  • Copy and paste the Webhook Address [Check next step]

  • Click on Confirm

2. Connecting Zapier to Factors

  • Open Zapier

  • Create new Zap

  • Click on trigger and select “Webhook” by Zapier

  • Select “Catch Hook” and click on Continue

  • Skip the step of giving a Trigger condition

  • Copy the Webhook URL and paste it into the alert, paste this link in the Factors' alert section

  • Paste it in the Alert and click on Test this with a Sample message

  • Head back to Zapier and click on “Test Trigger”

  • You will see a test payload sent across by Factors as shown below, select Continue with the Selected record

3. Creating LinkedIn Audience

  • Type LinkedIn in the search bar and select LinkedIn Ads

  • Select Create Audience in the Event dropdown and click on Continue

  • Under Account click on “Sign In” and you will be taken to the LinkedIn Sign In screen.

  • Sign In to Authenticate LinkedIn using your credentials. Note that if you have multiple accounts, Sign In to the account that has access to your Ad Account

  • Select the relevant Ad account

  • Select Audience type as Company

  • Type in Audience Name and Description

  • Click on Continue

  • Click on Test step, this will create the Audience inside your Ad Accoun

  • Confirm if Audience is created inside LinkedIn Audiences

  • Select the “Options” for the LinkedIn Audience creation module and delete it

  • Click on Add a Step and Select LinkedIn Ads again

  • Under Events select “Add Company to Audience” and click on Continue

  • Account should already be selected, so click on Continue

  • Under Action select Account and the newly created Audience

  • [IMPORTANT] Map the Company name from Factors by selecting the relevant Prop Value and click Continue.

We are mapping the Company Name from Factors’

It would be a Greek tragedy if wrongly mapped

  • Click on Test Step under Test

  • You should see the status set as success on doing this

  • Name your Zap, Click on Publish, and Turn it On

📋 Notes

  • The top ICP filters used are

    1. Revenue Range

    2. Employee Range

    3. Industry

    4. Country

  • Audience must be created via Make.com to add companies to it

  • We can push only Company Name into the Audience

  • The same workflow can be set up on Zapier, Tray.io, N8N, etc.
